Abstract
Dr. M Justin Zaman is a consultant cardiologist at James Paget University Hospital and honorary senior lecturer at the University of East Anglia. He was previously an NIHR clinical lecturer in cardiology at University College London and UCL Hospitals, and a British Heart Foundation Clinical PhD Research Fellow at UCL in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health. As an academic in cardiovascular epidemiology he has particular research interests in social inequality and global health, and in prevention and rehabilitation. In his research he has evaluated cardiovascular risk and inequalities in treatment related to older age, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and rural versus urban environments across the world. Dr. Zaman also has an active clinical practice in cardiology and leads the Anglia Cardiac Re-Prevent Alliance, a collaboration among cardiac rehabilitation programmes in the East of England.
