Abstract

Dr Tony Goldberg is an infectious diseases epidemiologist, who is working globally on pathogen dynamics within a range of ecosystems, hosts, landscapes, and timeframes. His work focuses on the ecology, epidemiology and evolution of infectious disease. He uses a diverse set of mixed methods including fieldwork, laboratory analyses, and quantitative and qualitative inference to build a global picture of transmission dynamics, pathogen evolution and emergence, and social determinants of infection persistence. His work is truly One Health focused, as he strives to conserve the rapidly changing ecosystems shared by humans and other animals and ensure their continued health.
