Abstract
In this work we present a Bragg spectroscopy setup for ultracold atom experiments. Selective Bragg diffraction is a powerful tool to measure physical properties of an atomic cloud, such as the dispersion relation, the momentum distribution, coherence properties and interaction energy. Here we show how Bragg spectroscopy can be used to probe interaction energy. Making use of a 39K Bose-Einstein condensate with tuneable interactions we are able to quantitatively determine the dependence of the Bragg resonance as a function of interaction strength. Not only do we find good agreement with theory in lowest-order approximation but we also are able to identify the onset of higher-order corrections.
