Disordered Quantum Criticality and Thermal Conductivities
- 👤 Speaker: David Ramirez - Stanford
- 📅 Date & Time: Thursday 08 October 2015, 13:00 - 14:00
- 📍 Venue: Potter Room (first floor, Pav. B)
Abstract
Understanding the effects of disorder, i.e. random couplings, on quantum critical points is important both conceptually and practically, but examples at strong coupling are hard to come by. Strong disorder is particularly interesting as it provides a natural setting for incoherent transport. In this talk I’ll discuss recent work on constructing holographic disordered quantum critical points as well as their thermal transport properties.
