Abstract
Two quantum field theories whose Hilbert spaces do not overlap cannot send signals to one another. I will show how this simple principle implies highly nontrivial consequences for holographic quantum gravity. These include (1) generic singularities inside black holes cannot be resolved, (2) traversable wormholes do not exist, and (3) certain cosmological bounces are forbidden. I will further argue that this principle implies a limited version of cosmic censorship.
