Abstract
The oil and gas industry faces a lot of challenges which are tackled by mathematicians โ ranging from engineering to commercial and trading. Examples include:
ยท Where shall we position our wells and what is the optimized drilling strategy?
ยท What is the most efficient way of getting hydrocarbons out of the ground.
All students are welcome to either BP sessions. ยท Are operations and technologies economically viable?
ยท How should we trade oil?
This talk gives an overview of where maths is used in the energy industry for business, engineering and science.
