Abstract
This talk centres on the importance of tuna fisheries at the international level but more specifically in the Western Indian Ocean and more broadly, contested marine space and other resources â oil and gas and potentially seabed minerals. Geopolitics is another dimension – the roles of France, the EU, China and India and other Asian states in the region. Who are the beneficiaries?
