Abstract
Criegee intermediates (CI) are important oxidants produced in atmospheric O3 + alkene reactions. In recent years much new data on reactions of CI have been reported from direct kinetic studies. The IUPAC Task Group on Atmospheric Chemical Kinetics has recently commenced evaluation of these data, extending substantially the scope of former evaluation published in ACP in 2006. The talk will show some key results of this evaluation, and summarise their implications for tropospheric oxidation.
Series This talk is part of the Centre for Atmospheric Science seminars, Chemistry Dept. series.
