An exploration of the value and power of a veterinary signature which can have many consequences from criminalisation, a custodial sentence, bankruptcy, being “struck off”, public humiliation, loss of animals and property, destruction of pets and suicide. Circumstances in which a signature is required. Section 18 AWA 2006 . The RCVS position- 12 Rules, 4 “C’s”. The ethical position. The moral position. The whole picture. Examples of cases that have resulted in severe results for all involved and an exploration of the rights and wrongs.
