Abstract
With so many smart people around, it can be hard to keep believing in yourself. Thoughts such as ‘they’ll find me out’ or ‘I don’t belong here’ are more common than you might think: many highly regarded, bright and capable people dismiss their achievements as due to luck, charm, or other external factors, thinking they have ‘fooled’ others. This workshop tackles this ‘impostor syndrome’ by looking at the factors involved in confidence, thinking critically about the impostor thoughts and finding ways to deal with these thoughts – and thrive in spite of them!
