Abstract
We do not normally think of cancer as a contagious disease. However, there are three known naturally occurring transmissible cancers, and these affect dogs, soft-shell clams and Tasmanian devils respectively.
Dr Elizabeth Murchison from the Department of Veterinary Medicine will discuss her research on the genetics of these unusual cancers, and will consider if such diseases could arise in humans. Book your free place here: http://scibar-mar2016.eventbrite.co.uk.
