Abstract
This talk has had to be cancelled for now.
Linda originally qualified as a veterinary surgeon and following several years in clinical practice developed an interest in T-cell immunology. In particular, she is interested in understanding the mechanisms that underlie T-cell-mediated disease in humans and animals. Linda was a Wellcome Trust Intermediate Clinical Fellow at Cardiff University until 2013; and subsequently moved to the University of Bristol to take up a chair in Translational Immunology. Linda is currently examining the role that the TCR and CD8 co-receptor play in providing effective immunity and diseases such as leukaemia, autoimmunity and transplant rejection. Findings from these studies are being used to develop novel therapeutic strategies in these diseases.
