Abstract
Asylum and immigration issues are among the most politically charged areas ever covered by European Union legislation. This lecture will address some of the broader issues, with a view to understand what happens to refugees and migrants when they face the application of new EU directives.
How do human rights obligations of European Union member states reconcile with their obligations towards the EU itself?
This lecture is addressed to the general public: non-lawyers are most welcome.
Series This talk is part of the Amnesty International Refugee Rights Campaign series.
