Abstract
Kite Power Systems is developing a novel power generating device in the space that is commonly known as ‘Airborne Wind Energy’. The company recently finished a raise to develop a 500 kW version of their technology, they have moved from the Essex coast and are now based in Scotland.
Bill Hampton the CTO will explain: how the company started including the early funding, why use kites at all what are their advantages, the relative strengths and weaknesses of various airborne wind energy methods, then a view of the competitive landscape before going into details on how Kite Power Systems build their specific solution.
