The pursuit of elusive 'win-win' results for forests and people in Peru

Abstract
With the pressing global challenges of biodiversity loss, climate change, food security, and poverty alleviation, institutions are increasingly seeking local solutions to jointly advance all of these aims. My PhD research identifies fundamentally different strategies for shaping farmers’ behaviours in pursuit of such ‘win-win’ aims, and explores how they play out across a landscape in northern Peru. This talk will focus on how outcomes for households and their surrounding communities and forests are shaped, and reflect on the implications for current intervention design and research practices.
