Abstract
Viterbo pointed out that distinguished classes in the symplectic cohomology of a Stein manifold X can be used to obstruct the embedding of exact Lagrangian submanifolds into X. We develop a new tool for studying the symplectic cohomology of affine algebraic varieties which allows us to produce classes in the symplectic cohomology of X which satisfy certain algebraic relations. In examples where a conjectural mirror partner to X is known, these classes correspond under mirror symmetry to vector fields which infinitesimally generate a C^* action which dilates a holomorphic volume form. Based upon joint work with Sheel Ganatra.
