Abstract
“MOVING PICTURES : MATHEMATICAL RECONSTRUCTION OF PAINTINGS ”. It is in conjunction with the COLOUR exhibition at the Fitzwilliam museum. The work is described in the exhibition catalogue (http://www.damtp.cam.ac.uk/user/cbs31/Home_files/6686_08_layouts_v3_carolapiece.pdf and featured in the guardian (https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2016/jul/25/adam-eve-naked-again-after-centuries-old-cover-up-fitzwilliam-museum PDEs play a central role in Dr Schรถnlieb’s work and different norms are used to emphasize or de-emphasize certain aspects of the images which are application specific as for example in MRI images.
