Primordial cosmology: a short history of nearly nothing

Primordial cosmology is the study of the earliest moments of our universe. Over the past two decades the field of cosmology has emerged as a precision science, allowing us to accurately trace the history of our universe back to within split seconds of the Big Bang. In this talk, I will review our current understanding of the evolution of the cosmos, and how we have used the cosmic microwave background and large scale structure to refine our understanding of our primordial universe. Additionally I will describe my observational and theoretical research into the first few yocto-pico seconds of creation, and the future of the field.
