Abstract
The New Edinburgh Edition of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Works (40 vols) will include five volumes of Stevenson’s published and unpublished essays, with extensive notes and other scholarly apparatus. Dr R L Abrahamson, one of the editors of the essays, will speak about Stevenson’s essay career, with specific attention to Virginibus Puerisque, Stevenson’s first collection of essays (1881), and for many decades one of his most popular books.
