Using only the complex octonions (an 8C dimensional algebra) we will see how to build the SU(3)c representations corresponding to not one, but three generations of quarks and leptons. This talk will assume as little background knowledge as possible; students are more than welcome. Based on JHEP 10 (2014)046.
