Come hear from neuropharmocologist Dr Ewan St. John Smith, in our first talk of Lent Term, on the peculiarities of the strange-looking naked mole-rat, an unusual cold-blooded and eusocial rodent. Lessons can be had from these “sand puppies”, as they’re also known as, from their unique way of pain sensation to their longevity and immunity to cancer. Wine and cheese will be provided!

Dr Smith is a group leader at the Department of Pharmacology, Cambridge, a member of the Naked Mole-Rat Initiative and a Fellow of Corpus Christi College.
