This seminar will present the evolution of a doctoral project about the role of higher education in building cultural, political and economic regions in Latin America. By looking at the Mercosur case – a regional organisation between Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, Venezuela and Bolivia -, the study focuses on the main historical moments when new ideas, actors and outcomes gave the regional higher education project a different dynamics.
