Abstract
In this talklet, I describe my work regarding the problem of distributed proximity query processing. Departing from the simpler models of centralised clientserver and distributed gossip based systems, I endeavour to simplify and localise the indices with respect to the proximity query semantics and to provide a formal system specification so as to enable automatic query optimisation for the locale in question. If you make it this far to read this rather lengthy abstract, I suggest you to make it worthwhile by proof-reading my thesis!
