Abstract
This session provides a unique opportunity for all attendees to discuss translations of poetry they are either preparing themselves or otherwise working with. Anyone with an interest in any aspect of poetry and/or translation is very welcome to join us, be they emerging or established translators, undergraduates, postgraduates, academics, poets, or writers. Participants are invited to bring along at least one poem (both in the original and in translation) that can be discussed by the group. It would be helpful if one of the languages involved were English, to provide some common ground, but that is not essential. We encourage attendees to explore emerging literature as well as renderings of canonical texts. The Hub will enable participants to share ideas and to seek focused theoretical and practical advice from other initiates of the dark art of translation.
