Abstract
George J. Makari is Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Director, Institute for the History of Psychiatry, Department of Psychiatry, Weill Medical College of Cornell University, New York City. He is the author of the very recently published Revolution in Mind: The Creation of Psychoanalysis (London: Duckworth, 2008), a major new cultural history of psychoanalysis.
