Abstract
In recent years ‘book history’ or ‘the history of the book’ has attracted increasing academic interest as a subdiscipline in the humanities. I have been involved in this development since the 1980s and in very diverse ways. Recently I’ve been trying to think about broader, comparative and global perspectives that consider the interaction between traditional bibliography and new book histories and that might intersect to an even greater extent with other disciplinary interests. This talk will want explore some of these ideas.
