DESCRIPTION:Identifying direct and indirect effects is a common problem in
the social science and medical literature\, and can be described as follo
ws. A treatment is administered and a response is recorded. However there
is a variable that somehow mediates the effect of the treatment on the r
esponse\, channelling a part of the treatment effect. In this talk I show
that how to formulate this problem and disentangle the direct and indirect
effects using the decision theoretic framework for causal inference. \n\n
