DESCRIPTION:We utilise an octonionic construction of the finite simple gro
 up $\\mathrm{E}6(q^2^)$ to construct the group $^2^\\mathrm{E}6(q)$ as a s
 ubgroup which preserves a certain Hermitean quadratic form defined on the 
 elements of the Albert algebra over $\\mathbb{F}{q^2^}$. Along the way we 
 also illuminate some of the subgroup structure.
