DESCRIPTION:SPECIAL GUEST: William Binney (Whistleblower and former NSA of
ficial).\n\nOur understanding of mathematics comes from building on that o
f those who came before us\; we are taught and mentored by them. We admire
their work\, and by extension we admire them as people. So how well do th
ese mathematicians prepare us for the real world\, and how much more do we
need to know? We work very hard to emulate them\, but we must be careful
not to do so absolutely or without question.\n\nThis talk will be co-prese
nted by William Binney\, and will involve an open Q&A session at the end.
