DESCRIPTION:How do great works of art become great? Or better\, how do the
 y become\nknown? A "national heritage" consciousness cannot exist if "heri
 tage"\nis not known to a majority of the population. The talks looks at ho
 w\,\nduring the nineteenth century\, a visual culture of heritage was\ncre
 ated through reproductive techniques. In particular\, it will\nanalyse the
  rise and fall of the Cast Museum in Europe.
