SUMMARY:What can we learn about cancer by modelling the data on it? - Jose
 phine French\, Health Data Insight

DESCRIPTION:The National Cancer Registration and Analysis Service holds da
ta on all diagnoses and treatments of cancer in England. The Simulacrum pr
oject has created models for these datasets\, which have been used to gene
rate synthetic data to allow researchers to explore individual-level cance
r data without threatening the privacy of individual patients. \n\nYou wou
ld use statistics and machine learning\, together with the data we hold\,
to look at questions like:\nWhat do these models tell us about cancer dire
ctly?\nCan these models identify data quality problems with the underlying
data?\nHow can we improve the modelling methodology? \nCan we be more dat
a-driven while respecting privacy restrictions?\nWhat interesting question
s might such models suggest people ask?\n
