DESCRIPTION:Hopf monads are a generalisation of Hopf algebras that have he
lped to clarify several aspects of their theory\, especially those relatin
g to the extra structure carried by the category of representations of a H
opf algebra. There are\, however\, other structures that qualify as "Hopf"
but are outside the reach of the Hopf monads\, such as the quasi Hopf alg
ebras of Drinfel'd. This talk reports on current work (joint with Alain Br
uguiéres & Mariana Haim) on a notion of Hopf monad that encompases the tw
o examples mentioned\, and that is surprisingly simple.
