DESCRIPTION:As part of the ongoing 'FuturePlan' estates redevelopment at t
 he Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in South Kensington\, the Trustees of 
 the V&A commissioned a new world class gallery in the Boiler House Courtya
 rd adjacent to Exhibition Road.  The gallery is constructed entirely below
  ground to create a new public courtyard and feature entrance above\, with
  virtually no superstructure to hold the basement down. Stuart will discus
 s some of the novel design solution used\, the ground breaking research th
 at has been incorporated into the fabric of the basement and challenges en
 countered during construction.
