DESCRIPTION:The UK's withdrawal from the EU poses many practical and legal
  challenges. Its impact on the protection of human rights will be the topi
 c of the annual Mackenzie-Stuart lecture organised by the Centre for Europ
 ean Legal Studies. \n\nDominic Grieve has been the MP for Beaconsfield sin
 ce 1997.  He was the Shadow Attorney General from 2003-09\, Shadow Home Se
 cretary from 2008-09 and Shadow Justice Secretary from 2009-10.\n\nUnder t
 he Coalition Government he was the Attorney General for England and Wales 
 and the Advocate General for Northern Ireland until July 2014. \n\nDominic
  Grieve was elected Chairman of the Intelligence and Security Committee in
  September 2015.  He has been a Member of the Standards and Privileges Com
 mittee and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Society of Conservat
 ive Lawyers from 2015 to 2017. He is the President of the Franco-British S
 ociety and Vice-Chairman of the Franco-British Council. \n
