DESCRIPTION:Efforts to improve overall nutrition and health outcomes as we
 ll as narrow the gap across subpopulations will require a spectrum of micr
 o- and macro-level approaches. These range from regulatory policies to mor
 e “nudge-like” designs that changes incentives to encourage consumers 
 to make healthier choices\, and the food/beverage industry to offer and pr
 omote healthier options. This talk will focus on fiscal policies as exampl
 es of how monitoring efforts\, model-based approaches and evaluation studi
 es help us understand mechanisms to inform on public health nutrition poli
 cymaking and help set improvements on nutrition and health outcomes on an 
 upward spiral for all.
