 bout improving healthcare systems and processes. Led by Dr Louise Davies\,
  Associate Professor\, Geisel School of Medicine Department of Surgery and

 ar will take place on the Biomedical Campus Monday 30 April 1200 – 1300 
 and be followed by an informal lunch. No bookings required\, all are welco

 Dr Davies is a surgeon and researcher.  Her academic appointments are with
  the Geisel School of Medicine Department of Surgery and The Dartmouth Ins
 titute for Health Policy & Clinical Practice (TDI)\, both in Hanover\, New
  Hampshire\, USA.  She was the Co-PI on the SQUIRE 2.0 Publication Guideli
 nes\, for which she led the evaluation process that drove the revision wor
 k.  She has practical experience in large scale quality improvement from h
 er own workplace efforts to improve instrument sterilization and organizat
 ion procedures for the operating room. \n\nAs a researcher\, she has exper
 tise in both qualitative and quantitative approaches.  She is the director
  of the introduction to qualitative research methods course in Dartmouth
 ’s public health program\, and does research in cancer epidemiology\, pr
 edominantly thyroid cancer.  One of her broad interests is using qualitati
 ve approaches to bolster the value gained from numerical data in health se
 rvices research and healthcare improvement projects.    \n
