DESCRIPTION:I present the recent determination of αs performed by the NNP
 DF \ncollaboration.\nI show that our approach is free of inconsistencies t
 hat affect fits of \nαs where\nonly a specific hadron collider process is
  taken into account. Similar \narguments\nare utilized to introduce a pros
 pective method to account for \nuncertainties of\ntheoretical origin.
