DESCRIPTION:We provide an update on vacuum energy sequestering (VES)\, a
novel approach to the cosmological constant problem. We will review the m
echanism for cancellation of vacuum energy loops yielding a technically na
tural value for the cosmological constant for the low energy effective fie
ld theory describing standard model matter coupled to gravity. We will pro
vide an etude\, comparing our proposal with other related works that have
recently appeared in the literature. We will also comment on a new model i
ndependent analysis of self tuning or self adjustment\, orthogonal to Wei
nberg’s famous work\, and clarify where VES fit into this picture throug
 h the power of decapitation
