 e Department of Geography\nfree workshop\n\nRecent outbreaks of dengue fev
 er\, zika\, ebola\, and other diseases remind us that the urban landscapes
  of late modernity and processes of urbanization provide fresh opportuniti
 es for pathogenic agents and disease vectors. At the same time\, long-stan
 ding colonial imaginaries of tropical environments\, racialized bodies\, a
 nd pathways of contagion continue to delineate technological\, spatial\, a
 nd regulatory norms as well as quotidian encounters. This workshop seeks t
 o build an interdisciplinary conversation about urban infectious and epide
 mic disease through a postcolonial lens\, probing how the material\, spati
 al\, and political landscapes of colonial and postcolonial modernity infor
 m ongoing vulnerabilities\, multi-species relationships\, and public healt
 h frameworks.\n\nParticipants include Andrea Bagnato\, Uli Beisel\, Nandin
