DESCRIPTION:UK Biobank has the ambitious aim of acquiring 100\,000 cardiov
 ascular magnetic resonance (CMR) scans in 20% of the original cohort. This
  talk will provide some insight into progress\, challenges and opportuniti
 es of this already largest CMR research study to date. Some examples will 
 be given that demonstrate how UK Biobank already contributes to our unders
 tanding of how modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors link to cardiac 
 structure and function. Progress on automating the analysis of CMR scans u
 sing deep learning approaches and extracting additional novel biomarkers w
 ill be discussed.
