DESCRIPTION:In this seminar I will talk about finishing the PhD and making
  the transition to a first research position\, reflecting on my recent exp
 eriences of interviewing at Microsoft\, writing up and submitting my disse
 rtation\, relocating to China\, and returning to Cambridge for the viva vo
 ce examination. I will also describe what life is like in Beijing\, as wel
 l as the nature of my new role as a researcher in Microsoft Research Asia.
