DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to announce that Dr Ranjit Manchanda of the B
arts Cancer Institute Centre for Experimental Cancer Medicine will give a
seminar for our programme on 21st May. Dr Manchanda's main research intere
sts are:\n\n- Risk prediction\, screening and prevention of ovarian and en
dometrial cancer\n- Population based approach(es) to genetic testing for r
isk stratification and cancer prevention\n- Targeted surgical approaches f
or prevention of gynaecological cancer\n- Familial gynaecological cancer\n
He and his team recently published an article in Journal of the National C
ancer Institute suggesting that screening the entire population for breast
and ovarian cancer gene mutations\, as opposed to just those at high-risk
of carrying this mutation\, is cost effective and could prevent more ovar
ian and breast cancers than the current approach. Click here for paper.\n\
nThe talk will be followed by refreshments and the opportunity to network
with colleagues. Please register at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/seminar
