DESCRIPTION:A new approach to the applicability\, the theory and the analy
 sis of electronic energy transfer is presented. The extended Förster theo
 ry has been used for the determination of intraprotein distances. Here the
  analysis of time-resolved fluorescence experiments is brought to the same
  level of theoretical detail as in ESR- and NMR-spectroscopy. As an outcom
 e of this approach\, structural insights of non-covalent protein polymers 
 are obtained.
