DESCRIPTION:Lax-Phillips scattering theory is a somewhat abstract theory w
hich applies to wave scattering. It leads to a functional model in which\,
under a transformation\, the wave scattering is mapped to analytic functi
ons which possess unique properties. My goal is to apply this theory to w
ave scattering by ice shelves\, but I will focus on illustrating it by usi
ng it to solve some simple examples.
