DESCRIPTION:Gerison Lansdown\, now an international children's rights cons
 ultant\, was the founder director\, in 1992\, of the Children's Rights All
 iance for England\, established to promote implementation of the UN Conven
 tion on the Rights of the Child. She has published and lectured widely on 
 the subject of children's rights\, both nationally and internationally. Pu
 blications include: *The Evolving Capacities of the Child\,* UNICEF\, 2005
 \,* *and *A Human Rights-Based Approach to Education for All\, *UNESCO/UNI
 CEF\, 2008. She is currently vice chair of UNICEF-UK\, and co-director of 
 CRED-PRO\, an international initiative to develop child rights educational
  programmes for professionals working with children.
