DESCRIPTION:"Twenty years ago\, Pascal Khoo Thwe\, a Kayan Padaung tribesm
 an from southeast Burma\, was a student leader involved in the 1988 nation
 wide pro-democracy Burmese uprising. After the military coup\, he fled int
 o the jungle\, helping support around 400 refugees close to the Thai-Burma
  border. A letter sent to him by John Casey\, a Cambridge don he had earli
 er met in Mandalay\, not only reached the other side of the world\, but re
 sulted him being rescued from the jungle and enrolling to read English at 
 Caius College. He graduated in 1995 and in April 2002 published his award-
 winning biography\, "From the Land of Green Ghosts: A Burmese Odyssey"\, w
 hich tells his journey to freedom despite almost unimaginable odds."\n
