DESCRIPTION:In the talk I will explain a combinatorial/integrable systems 
 model for quantum cohomology of Grassmannians and then connect it with the
  action of some DAHA at roots of unity. The double affine Hecke algebras (
 DAHA) were introduced by Cherednik in the context of (and to solve) the Ma
 cDonald constant term conjecture for generalized symmetric functions. I wi
 ll briefly recall the definition of this algebra\, give a topological moti
 vation and then describe the connection to the cohomology rings. Via a the
 orem of Witten our result confirms a philosophy of Cherednik that Verlinde
  algebras should be modules \nfor double affine Hecke algebras.\n
