DESCRIPTION:This talk will draw on a Randomised Control Trial analysis of 
 the impact (on deforestation and water quality) of a Payment for Ecosystem
  Services scheme in Bolivia\, quasi experimental analyses of the impact (o
 n deforestation and economic wellbeing) of Community Forest Management out
 comes at the national scale in Madagascar\, and a participatory impact eva
 luation of the impact (on subjective wellbeing) of Protected Aras and CFM 
 in Madagascar. I will highlight the pros and cons of the various approache
 s to impact evaluation.
