DESCRIPTION:On average\, men produce 8 or 10 times more testosterone than
women. Everyone knows that testosterone makes your muscles grow stronger\,
your voice deepen\, and your beard grow. Less well known is that testoste
rone produced by the baby in the womb has irreversible effects on brain de
velopment. Professor Simon Baron-Cohen describes a unique experiment condu
cted on hundreds of Cambridge children\, measuring their testosterone in t
he womb and following them year by year as they grow up\, to see how this
remarkable molecule affects their brains and minds.
