DESCRIPTION:Our starting point is the following obviously absurd question.
Suppose that a large group are set to vote on a yes/no issue: each person
will vote (in the usual way: in secret\, at the same time) and then the `
outcome' is taken to be the majority decision. Each voter wants their vote
to be right\, but no voter has any idea at all about the issue. How shoul
d they vote? This talk is suitable for a general audience.
